Job Description

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as a Bilingual Pharmacist. This position is responsible for the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications to hospital inpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify physician orders for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness.
• Prepare, compound, and dispense medications, including sterile IV admixtures, according to established hospital procedures.
• Monitor and adjust medication therapies based on patient condition, lab results, and clinical response.
• Provide drug information and consultation to medical and nursing staff regarding appropriate medication use.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making.
• Support medication safety initiatives and assist in the development of pharmacy policies and procedures.
• Utilize the pharmacy dispensing system and EMR for documentation and verification of medication orders.
• Ensure continuous quality improvement in inpatient medication processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy.
• Valid license to practice as a pharmacist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required.

Required Skills

• 1 year Pharmacist experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems.
• Experience in sterile processing and IV room procedures.
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Spanish preferred.

Pay range and compensation package

Schedule Notes: A schedule will be discussed during an interview. (5) 8-hour shifts per week; weekends required – closed on Sunday.
