Position Summary

The Clinical Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing clinical and business information systems with a focus on Epic Revenue Cycle modules (Claims & Remittance). The role involves translating business needs into system requirements, supporting full life-cycle implementations, and ensuring solutions meet operational, regulatory, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, document, and analyze business and clinical requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and QA to ensure accurate system design and delivery.
  • Lead or support system configuration, testing, and deployment for Epic applications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize revenue cycle operations.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and documentation.
  • Mentor junior analysts and participate in departmental training initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree with 2 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; equivalent combinations accepted.
  • Required Experience:
  • Healthcare and revenue cycle background.
  • Minimum of 3 full life-cycle implementations or major system upgrades.
  • Strong knowledge of claims processing, clearinghouse maintenance, and payer/remittance workflows (Medicare, NY State preferred).
  • Epic Experience: Minimum 3 years with Epic EMR; must hold Epic Professional Billing (PB) Claims & Remittance Certification.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with system optimization, requirements management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teams.
