Job Description

We Search People is seeking a seasoned, highly skilled Construction Superintendent to lead onsite operations for a large-scale multifamily renovation project with a nationally recognized, industry-leading multifamily builder. This position requires a hands-on field leader with extensive renovation experience and a strong ability to drive quality, safety, scheduling, and coordination from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all onsite construction activities for multifamily renovation projects in Newport News, VA.
• Manage daily field operations, schedules, and sequencing to ensure timely project completion.
• Enforce jobsite safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance with building codes.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and onsite crews.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to plans and specifications.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Lead onsite meetings, communicate progress, and collaborate closely with project management and leadership teams.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent, with a strong focus on multifamily renovation projects.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale or occupied-unit renovation work.
• Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, renovation sequencing, and trade coordination.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and inspection processes.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold subcontractors accountable.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage fast-paced projects while meeting national builder standards and expectations.
