Job Description

Overview

The Delivery Driver plays a key role in bringing the quality and care of our bakehouse to our retail cafés, catering clients, and wholesale partners. We’re looking for a dependable, safety-focused professional with experience operating box trucks (16’–24’) and forklifts, who takes pride in ensuring every delivery arrives on time and in excellent condition. This role combines driving and hands-on work — supporting daily packing operations, maintaining delivery vehicles, and assisting with general warehouse organization and property upkeep.

The ideal candidate is forklift certified and experienced with delivery operations while being a reliable and dependable team plater. The hours start early and working the weekends is a must. The wage range is $18-25/hr and is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

Delivery & Logistics

  • Safely and efficiently deliver baked goods, catering orders, and other products to retail locations and customers according to a daily route schedule.
  • Load and unload deliveries with care to maintain product quality and presentation.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and retail leads regarding order drop-offs and issues.

Packing & Support

  • Assist the packing team as needed with sorting, labeling, and organizing daily orders for delivery.
  • Help ensure accuracy and completeness of all packed products.
  • Assist with end-of-day cleanup and restocking for the next day’s operations.

Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform regular checks of delivery vehicles for cleanliness, fuel, tire pressure, and basic functionality.
  • Report and coordinate necessary maintenance or repairs in a timely manner.
  • Keep delivery vehicles clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.

Facilities Support

  • Assist in general upkeep of the warehouse, including trash removal, sweeping, minor repairs, and organization.
  • Support maintenance of the exterior of the building and grounds, such as light landscaping or snow removal (seasonally).
  • Participate in special projects related to facility improvements or organizational needs.
  • Communicate proactively with team leads on supply chain changes, product updates, and substitutions.
  • Provide visibility into upcoming changes that may impact production or retail operations.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 25 years old
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, move product carts, and perform physical tasks.
  • Experience driving vans and box trucks.
  • Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Friendly and professional communication style.
  • Comfortable working early mornings and weekends.
  • Experience in delivery, warehousing, or food service logistics.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle upkeep is a plus.
  • Interest in contributing to a positive and efficient workplace culture.

What We Offer

  • Career Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement as our cafe continues to expand.
  • Dynamic Work Environment: Work in a fun, supportive, and dynamic environment where we take our work seriously but have fun while we do it.
  • Employee Benefits: 401k, PTO, Sick Time, Health Insurance, Food/Beverage Discounts and more.

About us

We believe in more than just serving exceptional food and drink—we believe in fostering a community where great people, comfort, and quality converge.

The Buttery is many things:

  • a great local eatery
  • the village bakery & patisserie
  • an exceptional specialty coffee shop
  • all wrapped in a unique retail environment

We are a communal gathering place that fosters care and warmth through great hospitality in our customers' lives.  But most importantly, we are a collective of people coming together with a shared goal of building a healthy business through creating exceptional food and providing wonderful experiences.
