Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

Location/Onsite: Onsite – Mt. Juliet, TN

A Day in the Life of the Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

You’ll be the go-to expert for diagnosing and repairing a range of heavy-duty diesel trucks. From engines and transmissions to brakes and electrical systems, your work ensures the fleet stays road-ready and reliable. You'll also play a key role in regular maintenance and inspections that help prevent breakdowns and keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical systems
• Perform regular maintenance tasks and thorough vehicle inspections
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint issues
• Conduct basic welding (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG, ARC) when necessary
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records
• Communicate clearly with service writers and customers when needed
• Follow safety guidelines and instructions
• Occasionally lift and move equipment over 50 pounds

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and mechanical equipment
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license
• Basic welding ability
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• CDL or ASE certifications are a plus, but not required
• Understanding and compliance with specific instructions, guidelines, and safety policies
