Director, Data Analytics Engineering

Overview

  • The Director, Data Analytics Engineering plays a strategic leadership role in building and scaling Empower Pharmacy's enterprise-wide data analytics platform to drive operational excellence, informed decision-making, and healthcare innovation.
  • This Information Technology (IT) leader oversees high-performing teams, develops best practices for data engineering, and integrates advanced analytics into business workflows.
  • By fostering cross-functional collaboration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and applying sound judgment and innovation, the Director enables Empower to transform into a data-first, patient-centered organization.

*** Responsibilities ***

  • Possesses deep expertise in modern data stack technologies, specifically:
  • Hands-on experience Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and NoSQL databases, Apache Airflow, data build tools
  • Uses Python to support scalable data infrastructure and analytics initiatives
  • Demonstrates a strong command of data governance principles, privacy regulations, and security frameworks, with a proven track record of deploying
  • Operationalize AI and ML models in highly regulated, performance-driven environments

*** Qualifications ***

  • At least 12 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics roles
  • At least 8 years in a leadership capacity
  • Healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries experience

*** Education ***

  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration preferred

*** Certifications Preferred, Not Required ***

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (MC:AZ-305)
  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (AWS:DAS-C01)
  • Or equivalent industry-recognized certifications

Candidates must meet the required years of experience at scale with one or more of the listed technologies.
