Our client-a fast‑scaling investment bank with a sharp focus on alternative capital formation-is seeking a Director or Managing Director with deep SPAC expertise to accelerate origination efforts across SPAC IPOs, de‑SPAC capital raises, and sponsor advisory. This is a role built for a closer : someone who knows the SPAC ecosystem cold, understands sponsor dynamics, and can generate mandates in a competitive, fast‑moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

SPAC Origination - Core Mandate

• Aggressively originate SPAC IPO mandates , targeting both first‑time and repeat sponsors.
• Drive de‑SPAC financing opportunities , including PIPEs, structured equity, convertibles, and strategic capital raises.
• Expand relationships with SPAC sponsors, private equity teams, family offices, venture platforms, and independent serial sponsors .
• Identify whitespace opportunities in sector‑specific SPAC themes, cross‑border listings, and founder‑led vehicles.

Client Acquisition & Deal Generation

• Actively pursue new sponsor groups and founders; build a high‑velocity origination pipeline .
• Lead pitch processes with sharp, data‑backed perspectives on market windows, investor appetite, valuation ranges, and structural considerations.
• Deliver fresh, differentiated ideas around SPAC formation, trust structures, redemption mitigation strategies, and capital stacking.

Execution & Product Leadership

• Guide clients through key SPAC milestones: early‑stage structuring, S‑1 strategy, marketing, pricing, and de‑SPAC transition planning.
• Partner with syndicate and execution teams to ensure fast, disciplined deal execution.
• Provide conviction-driven market views on SPAC issuance trends, redemption rates, sponsor incentives, and competitive dynamics.

Platform Growth & Team Leadership

• Help further scale the firm's SPAC practice as part of a broader ECM buildout.
• Mentor junior bankers and associates to support deal execution and origination research.
• Bring an entrepreneurial mindset-challenge processes, accelerate timelines, and push for continuous innovation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in ECM, investment banking, or capital markets, with specific SPAC origination or execution experience required.
• Track record of winning SPAC IPO mandates or structuring de‑SPAC capital solutions .
• Strong network across the SPAC sponsor community, including private equity, VC, and founder‑led vehicles.
• Highly commercial, energetic, and comfortable in a high-output, high-accountability culture.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to command credibility with sophisticated sponsors.
• Advanced degree is preferred but not required.
