Job Description

Full job description

Job Title: Estate Planning & Entity Formations Attorney

Firm: Law Firm of Earl P. White

Location: Remote-Hybrid (Northern New Jersey Preferred)

Type: Full-Time

About the Firm

The Law Firm of Earl P. White is a fast-growing, real estate-centered law firm serving Northern New Jersey. Our core clients are small to mid-sized real estate investors—landlords and property owner.

These clients value responsiveness, practical legal advice, and long-term relationships with a lean, efficient legal team. We also support these clients—and others—with estate planning that aligns with their investment goals.

Many of our clients have multiple properties, manage businesses that fuel their real estate portfolio and development ventures, making business formations, asset protection, and succession planning a key part of our client's goals.

The firm has invested heavily in a digital infrastructure—generating leads through SEO, Google, and social media, backed by a referral network (realtors, title agents, loan officers), and powered by Lawmatics to track, engage, and book consults directly to your calendar. A steady stream of inquiries comes from real estate investors and business owners looking for strategic planning services.

Why This Role Is Unique

This is not a traditional estate planning role. You will step into a tech-enabled, investor-focused legal practice with inbound lead flow and the autonomy to build a portfolio around planning for real estate clients. From day one, you will advise clients who own multiple properties—often in different states. These clients desire thoughtful entity structuring, succession strategies, and estate plans that reflect both family and business realities.

You’ll join a collaborative team of attorneys in related practices such as real estate closings, leasing, real estate litigation, landlord-tenant, and land use—allowing you to offer comprehensive solutions to clients and benefit from internal referrals to you (and origination fees to refer to other attorneys likewise).

Support includes task delegation through local legal assistants in our Rutherford, NJ office and vetted LegalSoft virtual assistants, helping you focus on strategy and client experience.

Role Summary

We are hiring an Estate Planning & Entity Formations attorney to help lead and grow this critical practice area for our clients. This position is for an experienced attorney capable of serving real estate investors with property portfolios and layered business interests.

You must be comfortable assessing ownership configurations, forming entities, and integrating those into a comprehensive estate and asset protection plan.

Our firm operates on a remote-hybrid basis. Office space in Northern New Jersey is available as needed, and we anticipate expansion as the team grows.

Responsibilities

Design and implement estate plans for existing and new clients, regularly real estate owners or real estate investors, including:

  • Wills, living and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives
  • Asset protection strategies tailored to clients with property holdings
  • Planning that coordinates with existing or new LLCs or trusts holding title
  • Handle entity/business formations and governance for clients with real estate ventures and related businesses, such as LLC formation with custom operating agreements and structuring
  • Integration of business planning into estate and succession strategies
  • Meet with clients to assess needs, explain options, and secure engagements
  • Use Lawmatics, Gavel, and Asana to track leads, automate document workflows, and manage tasks
  • Delegate filings, follow-ups, and admin tasks to virtual or in-person assistants
  • Coordinate with partners in transactional and litigation practices for holistic Client service
  • Contribute to firm-wide strategy and growth planning

Qualifications

  • Reside in North Jersey
  • Licensed in New Jersey and in good standing
  • Substantial experience with estate planning and entity formation, particularly for real estate investors
  • Confidence advising clients with large or multi-state real estate portfolios
  • Understanding of how business entities integrate with estate and tax planning
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to digital systems and remote/hybrid operations
  • Comfortable meeting with clients directly and building long-term relationships
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to shape the firm’s planning practice
  • Aligned with our investor-oriented client base and collaborative team culture

Compensation & Support

  • Base Salary: $70,000.00 to $125,000.00 (commensurate with portable book of business and client-contact experience).
  • Origination Fees: 15% of all legal fees from clients you originate for you or any other attorneys (including digital leads and any outside clients you bring)
  • Revenue Share: Percentage of earned legal fees scaling to 35%
  • Health Reimbursement (QSEHRA): Tax-free support for a health plan of your choice

Firm Support Includes:

  • Legal assistant support via LegalSoft and local contractors
  • Phone answering, follow-ups, and document preparation services
  • LexisNexis, Lawmatics, Gavel, Asana, malpractice insurance, and bar dues
  • Flexible office access with anticipated expansion

Who This Role Is For

  • An estate planning attorney ready to work with real estate investors and other real estate owners
  • Someone with a deep understanding of how real estate holdings and businesses intersect with estate planning
  • A solo or senior associate seeking to eliminate overhead and leverage firm infrastructure
  • An attorney excited by the idea of building a practice around strategy—not just transactions
