We are looking for a Funding Manager to join our team! As a Funding Manager, you will lead the funding department, ensuring mortgage loans are disbursed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry regulations. This role is responsible for managing funding staff, streamlining processes, and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy. You will collaborate with Closing, Processing, and Accounting teams to ensure timely wire transfers, error-free disbursements, and strong lender relations. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage the funding team, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Hire, train, and mentor funding staff, setting performance expectations and fostering a high-performing team culture.
  • Oversee and manage the mortgage loan funding process from final approval to disbursement, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor and enforce accountability within the funding team, tracking performance metrics and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Review and verify loan closing documents for completeness and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with escrow officers, title companies, and internal departments to ensure all funding conditions are met prior to disbursement.
  • Approve and initiate wire transfers , ensuring timely and accurate loan funding.
  • Manage funding pipelines , prioritizing urgent closings and proactively resolving potential delays.
  • Implement and refine processes to streamline funding operations, improve accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state lending regulations, including TRID, RESPA, and TILA, while maintaining adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct audits on funded loans to ensure proper documentation, accuracy, and reconciliation.
  • Resolve funding-related issues and escalations promptly and professionally, minimizing risk and maintaining service excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Closing, Processing, and Post-Closing) to maintain smooth operational workflows and communication.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on funding efficiency, team performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on industry trends , regulatory updates, and best practices in mortgage loan funding to keep operations aligned with industry standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in mortgage funding, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing funding team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage funding processes, loan documentation, wire transfers, and compliance with TRID, RESPA, and TILA regulations.
  • Experience managing funding pipelines and meeting strict closing deadlines in a fast-paced mortgage environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to track key performance metrics and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve funding-related challenges efficiently.
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems (LOS), funding software, and financial reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and enforce team accountability.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
