POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Merchant who will be an essential owner in mapping and identifying our assortment and inventory needs across our NK Collection and Home Furnishing categories. You will identify revenue growth opportunities (that align with our strategic brand vision) and ensure the representation across our sales channels (in person and online). Additionally, you will be charged with creating in stock and quick ship programs to leverage customer desire for the best revenue outcomes.

The Merchant needs to know it ALL. This role is a nucleus of the calendar- partnering with every cross-functional team:

  • Dissecting the product line
  • Developing the assortment
  • Staying ahead of the competition
  • Seeing the concept through to completion

Its strategy, its creativity, its analytics, its partnership, its forecasting, and its knowledge of the brand, the Nickey Kehoe customer, and the product you represent

Categories include: furniture, lighting, hardware, mirrors, decorative accessories 

Responsibilities + Overview:

 

Assortment Planning

  • Identify strategy assortment/category additions and opportunities and view all through a merchant’s lens (what is missing and what makes the purchasing journey easier for the customer). Work with planning to define sales goals and sku targets.
  • Leverage sales data and internal intelligence to determine assortment needs. Define pricing tiers and work towards margin improvement. 
  • Track products performance on a weekly basis to understand sales and opportunities - be responsible for the financial impact of categories/departments under purview.

Ecomm and Retail Merchandising

  • Work with Sales and Marketing Teams to ensure collections are properly represented through all channels (physical and digital), marketing and media
  • Pass off product information for launches to cross functional teams in a timely manner.

Inventory Management + Demand Planning

  • Partner with planning to maintain established in-stock, fulfillment and inventory goals.
  • Work with planning to define sales and inventory targets
  • Participate in OTB with a focus on product turns and profitability of categories.

Vendor Management 

  • Manage day to day needs of relationships including (but not limited to) communications, quoting, and sampling. Hold vendors accountable to production time frames 
  • Establish and manage fabric vendors and in-stock/quick ship fabric vendors 
  • Place, track and manage POs for stocked product

Product Development + Trend

  • Partner with PD and Production to improve and identify Quality Control standards 
  • Deploy high level expectations and customer-centric lens on all product produced
  • Stay in the know of trends and industry best practices. Understand the landscape and impact of brand and those in our cohort 
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned to meet the needs of the business

Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000
