Our client, a Global Fortune 50 organization and one of world’s largest distributors of healthcare systems, medical supplies & Pharmaceutical products, seeks an accomplished Oncology Triage Nurse – Remote in TX

Position: Oncology Triage Nurse – Remote in TX

Location: Remote (Greater Houston Area Only)

Contract: 6 months contract with possible extension or Conversion

Pay Rate: $39/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM CST

Training/Meetings: In-office in The Woodlands, TX (required)

Position Overview

The Remote Oncology Triage Nurse provides telephonic triage services, assesses patient needs, and coordinates appropriate care in alignment with clinical guidelines. This role requires accurate documentation in the medical record, identification of high-risk symptoms, patient education, and directing individuals to proper resources. Under general supervision, the nurse delivers professional care consistent with national standards, organizational policies, and state board licensing requirements. This role also supports quality initiatives and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic triage services and assess oncology patient needs.
• Identify high-risk conditions and escalate appropriately.
• Deliver patient education and support.
• Document all interactions and clinical elements in the patient’s medical record.
• Use electronic health record systems and telecommunication tools effectively.
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure timely interventions and improved patient outcomes.
• Participate in required onsite trainings and meetings at The Woodlands, TX.
• Adhere to quality, compliance, and organizational guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in Texas or a multistate/compact state (additional state licenses may be required).
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or willingness to obtain certification within 1 year.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience , including at least 2 recent years of dedicated oncology experience (outpatient oncology or hospital oncology unit).
• Must live in the Greater Houston area with ability to commute to The Woodlands, TX for training/meetings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and telehealth tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a HIPAA-compliant private home workspace.

• Remote work from home.

• Required in-person training and periodic meetings in The Woodlands, TX.
