Schedule: Day shift, 5x8 (07:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Patient Registration Representative to join a hospital-based team in Burlingame, CA. This role is fully onsite and requires proficiency in EPIC registration workflows. You will be the first point of contact for patients and families, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
• Perform complete registration in EPIC, including capturing signatures and document imaging.
• Process insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations.
• Calculate and collect patient liabilities (co-pays, deductibles, deposits).
• Educate patients/guarantors on financial obligations; refer cases to financial counseling as needed.
• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, Consent Laws, and organizational policies.
• Assist with cashiering, bed management, and operator duties when required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1+ year of recent patient access or registration experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in EPIC (required); familiarity with payer portals and insurance verification systems.
• Knowledge: Insurance/medical terminology, EMTALA, Consent Laws.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, ability to manage high patient contact volume.
