Job Description

Production Assistant

Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, the Production Assistant will support critical aspects of Pinhook’s production processes. This full-time, Kentucky-based role will involve coordination across the full spectrum of Pinhook’s production pipeline—including blending, bottling, and raw material procurement. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Frankfort, Kentucky.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in bourbon to gain hands-on experience in the industry, learn directly from a seasoned team, and contribute meaningfully to the production and storytelling behind a fast-growing brand.

At Pinhook, our success is entirely dependent on our employees; their authenticity, curiosity, and empathy for our customers propel us forward. Therefore, in order to cultivate these qualities within the Pinhook community, we celebrate and seek to maximize diversity in all its forms.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Pinhook and its distilling, warehousing, and bottling partners for day-to-day coordination and communication
  • Implement the production schedule with partners; communicate and negotiate changes as needed
  • Set timelines and manage the creation, submission, and approval of new packaging and labels
  • Prepare and send detailed checklists for each bottling run, specifying all production requirements
  • Work closely with the Master Blender to identify barrel lots and request necessary production samples
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Single Barrel Program, including sample pulls, customer tastings, and bottling logistics
  • Assist with blending by supporting batch tracking, recordkeeping, and logistical coordination
  • Manage barrel inventory, finished goods inventory, and raw materials across production and storage locations
  • Track and procure packaging materials (glass, closures, labels); maintain communication with vendors
  • Coordinate sample and case shipping for sales, marketing, and trade use
  • Field and resolve quality issues during production or in-market, collaborating with the appropriate partners
  • Maintain accurate production records and support cross-functional coordination with internal teams
  • Visit distilleries, warehouses, and bottling sites regularly to support quality control and execution
  • Collaborate with all members of the Pinhook team and assist across departments as needed

Key Requirements

  • Strong interest in bourbon and the spirits industry (prior experience not required)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to travel within Kentucky, primarily near Lexington and Frankfort, with occasional regional travel
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods during facility visits or events
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar tools
  • Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and eager to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, operations, production, or beverage industry
  • Familiarity with inventory systems or project management tools

This job description is not intended to be all inclusive. Employees may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Compensation

  • This role has a base salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year.

Pinhook is an equal opportunity employer, and considers all applicants for employment based on their qualifications, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
