Summary

As TOSSWARE’s Production Technician Intern, you are a hands-on, detail-oriented team member eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll support the Production Technicians and Operations team with daily machine setup, maintenance assistance, and quality checks, helping to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently. You bring curiosity, mechanical aptitude, and initiative to every task, contributing to continuous improvement while gaining practical experience in production operations and Lean Manufacturing.

Essential Functions

You must have excellent communication, focus, and problem-solving abilities to perform the following:

• Assist Production Technicians with daily setup, changeovers, and operation of printing and manufacturing equipment.
• Support equipment cleaning, organization, and routine maintenance activities.
• Observe and assist with troubleshooting mechanical or quality issues under supervision.
• Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks to ensure printed products meet specifications.
• Help track production data and maintain accurate logs of downtime, performance, or material usage.
• Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency.
• Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe and organized work area.

• Standing or walking for extended periods while operating or observing machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and handle materials safely.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail when handling tools and equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technicians and supervisors during shift operations.
• Occasional exposure to production noise, machinery, and industrial materials.

• Willingness to learn Lean Manufacturing and quality control principles.
• Basic experience with hand tools or mechanical systems is a plus.
• Eagerness to grow into a potential full-time Production Technician role.
