For over nearly 50 years, Bet Tzedek Legal Services has provided high-quality, free legal services to Los Angeles’ most vulnerable residents. Today, delivery of those legal services requires innovation and partnership. The Receptionist/Intake Screener will work closely with our intake coordinator and operations manager to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of Bet Tzedek’s Operations/Intake Department, including pre-screening potential clients, receptionist duties, securing eligibility and preliminary case information, providing referrals, manage prescreening information in our case management database, and partnering with program staff to help the Intake Department function effectively in relation to their work.
This position is onsite. As such, the employee will be required to work in the office or other work-related locations to meet workload/business needs.
Salary:$32.44 - $33.12 per hour (DOE/DOQ)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Handle a high volume of calls from community members seeking legal services.
· Serve as front desk receptionist, receive clients and visitors, and handle walk- in applicants for services.
· Enter and track data in Legal Server (case management database), including assigning staff for client follow-up.
· Maintain updated referral information.
· Data entry, scanning, copying, word processing, creating, and maintaining spreadsheets, processing case files, and other administrative duties.
· Perform other operational duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work/life experience (required).
· Spanish fluency and ability to provide written and oral Spanish translation (required).
· Proficiency with MS Office (including Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel) (strongly preferred).
· Proficiency with NetDocuments or other web-based document management system (preferred).
· At least 3-5 years of law firm or legal nonprofit experience (preferred).
· Demonstrated patience, compassion, respect, and commitment to serving low-income persons (required).
