Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Ensure that DyStar is compliant with all applicable laws/regulations such as TSCA, OSHA (GHS), and DOT.
  • Ensure all required regulatory and compliance reporting is completed and submitted to authorities on time.
  • Setting up new products/raw materials in both Chempax and SAP for new business potential in a timely manner.
  • Provide regulatory expertise and assistance for USA and other DyStar sites in response to customer needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Government reporting: Provide data needed for annual reporting (Tier II, TRI/SARA 313, pesticide) for all sites except DFC & DHD. EPA’s CDR reporting due every 4 years for all sites except DHD, and Export Notifications for all sites as required. Provide information as requested by regulatory agencies.
  • Setting up new products/raw materials for US manufacturing or import into Chempax and SAP (includes confirming TSCA/Regulatory Compliance, entering/processing PDMs, creating SDS and labels). Entering new maintenance parts into Chempax for DHD.
  • Manufacturing support: adding new package codes, adding safety information to batch sheets, approving formula changes and entering PDMs.
  • Customer support: answering questions, providing compliance statements (Prop 65, ZDHC, Oeko-tex, RSL, etc) and customs compliance documents (CoO/FTA/NAFTA).
  • Purchasing support: approving new raw material sources and entering vendor/product relationships in Chempax.
  • Sales & Marketing/Technical support: creating experimental SDS for R&D samples/trials. Checking TSCA/Regulatory Status for potential new products or imports.
  • Global support: assisting other DyStar sites with SAP article codes and maintenance, SDS, and customer support. Providing REACH assistance for USA products exported into Europe and creating TT for USA products to other DyStar entities.
  • Updating Chempax, SAP, SDS and labels as needed due to formula/raw material changes or regulation changes.
  • Updating ISO procedures for new products, raw materials and imports as needed.
  • Maintaining and organizing raw material SDS and updating as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Working experience in Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Knowledge of domestic and global regulatory requirements such as TSCA, GHS, REACH as well as Standards and B&R requirements as BlueSign, ZDHC, others.
  • Working knowledge of chemicals and safety practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain effective communication and working relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Proficient with applicable databases and compliance software.

This is an on-site role in Charlotte, NC. It is NOT a remote position.
