Job Description

We seek an R&D Associate to provide technical and operational support in developing, improving, and testing new product formulations, ensuring they meet quality, stability, functionality, and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory, formulation, R&D, and/or regulatory role in an FDA-regulated industry (nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, research, medical devices, and/or personal care).
• Can perform basic percentages, concentration, unit conversions, and pricing calculations.

FUNCTIONS

• Draft formulations for product quotes, lab batches, piloting, and testing as needed for product development.
• Troubleshoot formulas based on lab batches, pilots, testing, and pricing.
• Perform basic physical testing on R&D products and standards for product development (organoleptic testing, weighing, particle size measurement, etc.).
• Assess regulatory documentation as needed to develop formulas per the necessary restrictions.
• Log new raw materials as needed for the formulation process.
• Track new raw material samples received for assigned projects and within the R&D department as needed.
• Maintain records and track formulations as necessary for product development.
• Compose change controls and deviations related to formulations.
• Communicate about all assigned projects to the R&D Manager.
• Attend meetings with clients, suppliers, and other departments/colleagues as needed for product development.
