Job Description

"NO VENDORS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE"

Sr. Dealer Development Strategy Manager

North America | Construction Equipment | Full-Time

About the Role

We’re looking for a proven leader with deep experience in whole goods dealer development within the construction equipment industry. The ideal candidate will be a current Senior or Director-level change agent who can step in, lead by example, and teach best practices across the dealer network. This person will drive dealer recruitment and growth, optimize network footprint, and develop strategic partnerships to fuel long-term business success.

This role demands hands-on leadership in new dealer recruitment and development—not just aftermarket or parts and service experience. The right fit will have a track record of expanding dealer footprints and leading teams in the construction equipment space.

This position is based in Suwanee, GA, with remote options for highly qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Dealer Network Expansion & Recruitment

  • Lead the full lifecycle of dealer recruitment, including market analysis, prospecting, business plan development, and onboarding new whole goods dealers.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities in open and underserved territories.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to dealers, helping them scale and improve operations.

Network Strategy & Optimization

  • Refine and execute a distribution strategy focused on whole goods dealer growth and sustainability.
  • Optimize the dealer network footprint by driving dealer performance improvements and succession planning.
  • Support dealer exit strategies when necessary to maintain network strength and integrity.

Change Leadership & Training

  • Act as a change agent who can effectively influence internal teams and external dealers.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to elevate dealer capabilities and align network strategy.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices across the dealer base.

M&A and Alternative Channels

  • Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and alternative distribution models to supplement organic growth.
  • Lead due diligence and financial analysis to support strategic recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with private equity, investors, and strategic partners.

Collaboration with Sales & Corporate Leadership

  • Partner with Sales leadership to align dealer strategies with market and corporate goals.
  • Provide insights on territory planning, resource allocation, and channel priorities.
  • Serve as a liaison between dealers and corporate functions to ensure alignment and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of direct dealer development experience in whole goods within the construction equipment industry, with demonstrated progression into senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record as a change agent with strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Expertise in dealer recruitment, onboarding, and network expansion.
  • Strong financial acumen including ROI analysis, pro forma modeling, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, negotiate, and influence at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary range of $150K–$200K plus a 10–20% performance bonus (negotiable).
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Generous 401(k) matching program.
  • Free telehealth and voluntary supplemental programs.
  • Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth.
  • The chance to shape and grow a leading brand in the construction equipment space.
