Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Truss & Lumber Associate to support daily operations in a lumber yard or truss manufacturing environment. This role may involve production, yard work, or design tasks depending on experience and facility needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Assembly

• Assemble roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels according to specifications
• Measure, cut, and prepare lumber using hand tools, power tools, and saws
• Ensure all assemblies meet quality and structural requirements
• Follow production schedules and maintain efficient workflow

Yard & Material Handling

• Load, unload, and organize lumber and building materials
• Pull and stage materials for production or customer orders
• Operate forklifts, saws, and other equipment safely (training provided if needed)
• Maintain a clean, organized yard and work area

Shipping & Inventory

• Prepare finished trusses and materials for delivery
• Assist with inventory counts and material tracking
• Ensure correct labeling, bundling, and loading of products

Design & Planning (If applicable)

• Use truss design or CAD software to create accurate structural layouts
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and building plans
• Communicate with contractors, builders, and internal teams to ensure design accuracy

Requirements

• Previous experience in truss manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or lumber yard work preferred
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working outdoors or in warehouse environments
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to read blueprints is a plus
• Computer skills and experience with design software (for design-focused roles)
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to safety
