As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining financial records. You will work closely with healthcare providers and patients to facilitate smooth billing operations, contributing to the overall efficiency of our services. We offer a competitive hourly salary range of $26 - $31, along with a supportive environment that fosters professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

Process and manage medical billing for patient accounts
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits
Review and correct billing discrepancies
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve issues
Maintain accurate records of billing transactions
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their billing inquiries
Stay updated on billing regulations and compliance standards

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical billing is a plus
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and coding
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with healthcare regulations and privacy practices is preferred
