Job Title: Natural Gas Quantitative Analyst

Location: Houston, Texas

Salary expectations: $200k+

In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Gas Trading to help translate complex fundamentals into actionable insights and trading strategies, combining quantitative analysis with a strong commercial lens. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about commodities, with strong analytical capabilities and a desire to grow within a dynamic trading environment. The role offers a clear development path, with successful candidates gradually taking on more responsibility, and ultimately working towards a leadership position.

Your role:

• Develop investment ideas by conducting thorough fundamental research and data-driven analysis
• Build and maintain short-term and long-term supply and demand models for U.S natural gas markets using Python.
• Develop and expand analytics tools and processes while staying on top of market research and insights.
• Analyse and forecast price movements, spreads, and basis levels across hubs like Henry Hub and regional nodes
• Work closely with traders to quantify trade ideas, stress-test scenarios, and assess risk

Experience/skills required:

• Must come from a quantitative background with a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in the North American Natural Gas market, either within the industry or in an advisory role. Experience with other energy commodities is also a plus.
• High GPA/ 1st Class Hons degree.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of financial modeling, specifically using Python.
• Proven track record of meeting challenging objectives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
