Job Description

Kao Specialties Americas LLC (KSA) is a leading supplier of oleo chemicals, performance chemicals, and specialty polymers. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Kao Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, we are part of a global leader in chemicals, consumer goods, and cosmetics.

KSA is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Quality Control Technician to join our innovative quality control team at Kao Specialties Americas in High Point, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards while leading efforts to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to the enhancement of product quality and operational efficiency, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards before reaching our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support QC deliverables to ensure raw materials, in-process, and finished goods meet the customer’s quality specifications.
  • Interface with and build strong collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and internal stakeholders, including Analytical, R&D, Engineering, Production, etc.
  • Independently resolve technical issues; effectively collaborate with internal and external teams to solve issues with broad scope and/or high complexity
  • Escalate challenges to management; develop constructive technical proposals and implement solutions for the resolution of challenges, and address quality issues
  • Ensure compliance within QC by monitoring test methods, SOPs, QC analytical data, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve deviations, laboratory investigations, and evaluate proposed analytical change requests
  • Support audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of quality control activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3 + years’ experience in Quality Control or other related function with a Bachelor of Science
  • Experience reviewing analytical test results and solving technical problems associated with a wide variety of laboratory instrumentation. Specific experience required in HPLC, GC, AA, titrators, viscometers, FTIR, spectrophotometer, etc.
  • Experience charting data and identifying trends observed during studies
  • Ability to identify risks associated with method qualifications and validations, with a proven track record of resolving challenges as they arise
  • Experience with managing QC-related deviations and laboratory investigations is preferred

  • Experience in managing project deliverables with a focus on achieving team objectives and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present scientific data clearly, logically, and persuasively.
  • Strong quality and compliance mindset, with a track record of identifying and addressing compliance gaps.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Supports a 7-day/24-hour specialty chemicals manufacturing plant on a 2-2-3 schedule.
