Singapore Maths Academy

Singapore Maths Academy is a specialist maths tuition brand working at the premium end of the market, founded in 2014 and twelve years into building its reputation in 11+ and maths education. The site is the business rather than a brochure for it — a learning platform, a shop, a library of maths games, a booking system for free calls, a downloads library, and an enquiry pipeline that follows a parent from first contact through to paying customer. The learning platform is deliberately not WordPress: it is built on Astro and Next.js, while WordPress carries the marketing site, the shop, the content and the SEO.

The Singapore Maths Academy website

Where they began

An established brand rather than a launch. Twelve years of reputation in 11+ and maths tuition already built, at the premium end of a market where parents compare carefully before they commit. The site had to carry that reputation and do several jobs a standard tuition website is never asked to do.

What was hard

At the premium end of tuition the website is part of the proof. Twelve years of reputation counts for very little if the first thing a parent meets is a form that asks the wrong questions or an enquiry that goes unanswered.

The harder problem was that this had to be several systems at once — teaching, selling, booking, publishing and capturing enquiries — without any one of them feeling grafted on. And the teaching side had requirements WordPress was simply the wrong tool for.

What we built

The learning platform was the decision that shaped everything else. Delivering courses properly needs speed and control that a WordPress plugin does not give you, so it was built separately on Astro and Next.js, and WordPress was left to do what it is genuinely good at: content, commerce, SEO and the marketing surface.

Enquiries were treated as a pipeline rather than a contact form. The forms are conditional, so a parent only answers what actually applies to them, and there are separate forms for seasonal enrolment and for individual campaigns instead of one form asked to do every job. Every completed form creates a card on a Fluent Board, so an enquiry stays visible from first contact through to a monthly paying customer rather than disappearing into an inbox.

The rest is depth. An extensive set of custom post types carries courses, resources, games and downloads in structures built around the content instead of forced into pages, with an SEO system layered over the top. Videos published to YouTube are drawn back into the site, so the teaching reaches people who will never think to subscribe to a channel.

The key parts

7 features we would like to highlight
Playing
A learning platform that is not WordPress

A learning platform that is not WordPress

Courses are delivered on a platform built with Astro and Next.js rather than a WordPress LMS plugin, because teaching at this level needs speed and control a plugin cannot give. It sits alongside the WordPress site rather than inside it.

A shop built into the business

A shop built into the business

Resources and materials sold directly through the site, so the teaching produces income outside the hours anyone is actually teaching.

Maths games

Maths games

A library of games built for the site. They do the thing a tuition brand most needs and rarely manages — they let a child experience the teaching before a parent has committed to anything.

Book a free call

Book a free call

A booking system for introductory calls, so the step between interest and conversation is one click rather than an email exchange.

Forms that ask the right questions

Forms that ask the right questions

Conditional forms, so a parent only sees what applies to them, with separate forms for seasonal enrolment and for individual campaigns rather than one general form doing every job badly. Wired to CRM email.

Every enquiry on a board

Every enquiry on a board

Completed forms create a card on a Fluent Board automatically. Each parent enquiry is tracked from first contact through to a monthly paying customer, so nothing is lost between the form and the follow-up.

Resources, downloads and video

Resources, downloads and video

A deep set of custom post types carrying resources and downloads in structures shaped around the content, plus the YouTube library pulled back onto the site — all of it under a deliberate SEO system.

What changed

A site that runs the business

Teaching, selling, booking, publishing and enquiry handling all happen on the same estate rather than across a scatter of separate tools.

No enquiry falls through

Every parent who fills in a form becomes a tracked card, visible from first contact to paying customer. The pipeline is a system rather than somebody's memory.

Teaching that scales past the timetable

Courses, games, downloads and video mean the academy reaches families outside the hours a tutor can personally be in the room.

Premium that behaves premium

Twelve years of reputation matched by a site that loads fast, asks sensible questions and answers quickly — which at this end of the market is most of the proof.
