Silsilah Connect supports institutions — mosques, Islamic schools and charitable organisations — with consultancy and guidance on paperwork, policy and governance. Part advisor, part think tank. We built their site around the work they do and around a jobs board: organisations post and manage roles themselves, with jobs held against the organisation that owns them rather than as loose listings.
Where they began
An organisation whose value is expertise and trust, needing a site that reads as credible to institutions deciding whether to take its advice. A first phase, deliberately — built to be extended once the model has proven itself.
What was hard
Selling guidance is harder than selling a product. Nobody hands over their governance and policy work to an organisation whose own site looks improvised, so credibility had to be established before a single service was described.
The jobs board was the piece with real structure behind it. A job is not a standalone listing — it belongs to an organisation, and that relationship has to hold if the board is going to be useful rather than a noticeboard. Organisations needed to add and edit their own roles without coming through us.
What we built
The site leads with credibility rather than services. For an organisation advising institutions on policy and paperwork, looking authoritative is not vanity — it is the product.
The jobs board was modelled properly. Jobs and organisations are separate things with a relationship between them, so a role always carries the organisation behind it and an organisation can carry many roles. That is what lets the board stay coherent as it grows, and it is the difference between a jobs board and a list of adverts.
The client adds and edits jobs themselves. A board nobody can update is a board that is out of date within a fortnight.
This was built as a first phase by agreement. Rather than specifying every eventual feature up front, the site covers what the organisation needs now and is structured so the rest can be added once the model is running.
The key parts
4 features we would like to highlight
A jobs board, properly modelled
The feature that makes this site different from everything else we have built. Jobs and organisations are separate entities with a real relationship between them — a role always carries the organisation behind it, and an organisation can hold many roles. That structure is what keeps a board coherent instead of becoming a pile of adverts.
The client runs the board
Jobs are added, edited and closed by the organisation itself. A board that needs a developer to update is out of date within a fortnight, which defeats the point of having one.
Credibility before services
The site is built to be believed. Institutions handing over their governance and policy work are making a trust decision first and a purchase decision second, so the design carries the authority the advice depends on.
Built as a first phase
Structured so the next stage can be added without unpicking this one — the organisation gets what it needs now and can extend once the model is proven, rather than paying up front for features it has not tested.
What changed
A jobs board that stays useful
Roles tied to the organisations behind them, kept current by the people who post them.
Authority that matches the advice
A site credible enough for institutions to trust with their policy and governance work.
Room to grow
A deliberate first phase, built so the next one adds to it rather than replaces it.
